2 c. flour
3 T. sugar
2 t. baking powder
1/4 t. baking soda
1/4 t. salt
1/2 c. cold butter
1 T. grated orange peel
1/3 c. dried currents
1 c. buttermilk

Preheat oven to 375

Mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, and soda. Cut in butter until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Stir in currents and peel. Add buttermilk, stir just until moistened. Turn out on floured surface. Knead briefly, divide in two portions and flatten into discs, about an inch and a half to two inches in center and one inch on outside edge. Place on baking sheet and cut each disc into six wedges. separate slightly. Brush each wedge with milk, then sprinkle with sugar. Bake about 30 minutes until golden.
