2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. soda
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. buttermilk

Mix dry ingredients; cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Dump in mik, stir only until moistened. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Drop from spoon onto baking sheet at least 3/4" apart. Bake until golden (12-15 minutes).
